About the Founder
Hi, my name is Molly Soden-Freeth and I am the founder of Act 2.
For as long as I can remember, I have had a deep passion for performing. At the age of 5, I started to attend local dance and drama classes where I realised that they are the perfect place to express myself and gain confidence.
I have been lucky enough to perform at Disneyland Paris, Alton Towers, Buxton Opera House, and York Theatre Royal. I've recently achieved a high level qualification in RAD Ballet.
I studied Drama and Dance at York St John University, where instead of following the industry standard I learnt the importance of individuality and how to be in charge of my own outcomes.
I have also become increasingly interested in working with people who have disabilities, giving them the opportunity to develop skills through performance.
Alongside this, I am currently working as a facilitator of drama sessions for children in several youth theatre groups.

The story behind Act 2
After finishing 'Act one' of my life, and receiving a Bachelor of Arts in summer 2024, I knew that I wanted to continue performing on stage. However, I was ready to explore more than amateur dramatics. I became aware that it is difficult for up-and-coming artists, beyond the age of 18, to find opportunities that don't require a financial contribution.
So, I have just started the process of putting together a musical theatre show that will support people moving into the second act of their life. This will allow them to develop new skills as well as providing them with their first experiences within the performance industry.
By joining one of Act 2's productions, you would receive a fair compensation for your work as well as having the opportunity to be spotted by agents. My hope is that this will provide an important stepping stone between higher education and a career as a professional performer.
I also enjoy leading theatre-based workshops in schools and community groups for people with disabilities as I feel that this is an area that often gets overlooked. Throughout these sessions I build the participants' self-confidence and spread the message: 'You Can Act 2'.
