About the Founder
Hi, my name is Molly Soden-Freeth and I am the founder/ managing director of Act 2.
For as long as I can remember, I have had a deep passion for performing. At the age of 5, I started to attend local dance and drama classes where I realised that they are the perfect place to express myself and gain confidence.
I have performed at Disneyland Paris and Buxton Opera House as well as featuring in popular TV shows like "Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man", "Warterloo Road", and "All Creatures Great and Small".
I studied Drama and Dance at York St John University, where I became increasingly interested in working with people who have disabilities and giving them the opportunity to develop skills through performance.
Alongside Act 2, I am currently working as a choreographer and drama facilitator in several youth theatre groups.

The story behind Act 2
After finishing 'Act one' of my life, and receiving a Bachelor of Arts in summer 2024, I knew that I wanted to continue performing on stage. However, I was ready to explore more than amateur dramatics. I became aware that it is difficult for up-and-coming artists, beyond the age of 18, to find opportunities that don't require a financial contribution.
So, I am putting together a musical theatre show that will support people moving into the second act of their life. This will allow them to develop new skills as well as providing them with their first experiences within the performance industry.
By joining one of Act 2's productions, you would receive a fair compensation for your work as well as having the opportunity to be spotted by agents. My hope is that this will provide an important stepping stone between higher education and a career as a professional performer.
I also enjoy leading theatre-based workshops in schools and community groups for people with disabilities as I feel that this is an area that often gets overlooked. Throughout these sessions I build the participants' self-confidence and spread the message: 'You Can Act 2'.
